Fellow Citroen (& French Cars) friends
The AFCD last Sunday was held at the McLaren Vale Visitors Center and hosted by Vale Crue Wineries a group of 5 vinyards that use the center as their Cellar Door. I must thank Steve & Sadie Gomer for the move to McLaren Vale.
What a fantastic venue it turned out to be. The weather was perfect and the venue exceeded our expectations.
The variety of Cars presented were exceptional and the conditions of some of them were even better. This year with the addition of two extra classes including the Concourse de Elegance the day went without a hitch.
The live Band of “melange a trio” also provided a different atmosphere with their eclectic French songs.
The Visitor center along with the Crepes from Crepe City providing a good option for those of us who didn’t bring a picnic lunch.
Those of you who brought a picnic lunch were provided with a beautiful area to consume your lunch.
We had the Mayor of McLaren Vale Erin Thompson presenting the trophies and a local identity Tony Parkinson come along to judge the
concours d’Elegance . He brought along his brand new Renault Alpine which very quickly took pride of place.
Overall the venue proved to be exactly what we need although if we had another 10 or 20 cars it would have been very tight.
So the important part of the day Prize Winners were
